I remember it was far. I didn't exactly know how far, because we were in a car which surely distorted the sense of distance.

There was a line to get in, it seemed everyone wanted to see Sonido Acido y los Funky Frescos (Acid Sound and the Funky Freshes) that day.

We entered and I immediately felt that I wasn't in my neighborhood, Bellavista, rather in the capital's "high sector." It's a large, well laid out space with lights hanging halfway to the floor, very sophisticated lighting. This is Centro Cultural Amanda, which for me, is a quality place. They've recently taken on great momentum, bringing top national and international artists —Cat Power, Jamie Lidell, Adanowsky, Pánico, Lucybell and CHC, among many others— organizing parties, artistic workshops and also acting as a producer.

Although Amanda's location is somewhat unaccessible without a car —at the Cobres de Vitacura— and of course, considering those who live closer to the captial's central-west area, it really is worth visiting every once in a while, because it's luxurious. It has good sound, a good bar, the entrance isn't expensive in comparison to any other bar offering live music and I guarantee you're going to like it. Yes, the drinks may be priced a little higher than the norm, but don't panic, they're not unattainable.
