All Argentineans except for the Mexican vocalist, for four years, they have been playing something like a "cumbia villera" (An Argentine sub-genre of cumbia) mixed with rock. They began casually and already have two albums under their belt, traveling around the world "without a mango," an Argentinean expression meaning "without any money."

Recently, Lollapalooza founder and Jane´s Addiction lead singer, Perry Farrell, said he was very impressed with Chilean band Chico Trujillo´s performance at Lollapalooza.
He wasn´t the only one. Myself and thousands more were also highly impressed, dancing and singing to their inextinguishable energy. Honestly, they were one of the best performances I saw that weekend; they engaged the crowd, sang with passion and unlike "the main event," Kanye West, they actually wanted to be there.

More than 50 bands, 5 stages and hundreds of thousands of fans over the course of two days, Lollapalooza´s first international outing was a huge success.
It has been so long since I´ve been to a festival of such a grand scale with so many well-known artists. It was fantastic! Plus, I was impressed that for its first year, everything was on time and the concert basically flowed like a well-oiled machine.

And once again, like every year since 1959, we had our highly criticized Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar (Viña del Mar´s International Song Festival).
It´s true, everything is showbiz and minutiae, the queen, the gossip, the clothes, etc. The festival wasn´t even projected on one of the most important national or international levels, and what´s more, I think that it has come to be well below the bar. The whole issue of the prizes, the torch and the seagull, is very absurd and paltry, as seen from the organization and artists´ viewpoint.
