Cuban and Chilean musicians of the Dhar +.
The Latin American jazz fusion formation, DHAR+ which unites great Chilean and Cuban representatives of its kind, will present itself for the first time live in concert in our country with the repertoire of its CD “Eternamente Pablo” - a tribute CD to Pablo Milanés - on Saturday, November 12th at Teatro Oriente.
The band consists of the Cubans Rolando Luna (keyboard), Eugenio Arango (percussion) –who will be joined by the legendary percussionist Oscar Valdés– and the Chileans Cristian Crisosto (member of the successful band Fulano playing saxophone and flute) and Jorge Campos (member of the legendary bands Congreso and Fulano, playing bass and being in charge of the musical direction). They will perform a broad selection of songs of the tribute CD which recently came out on the Chilean market and which is sold at Discomanía and the record store Kind of Blue.
“Eternamente Pablo” includes 13 songs of the star and counts with the collaboration of Pablo Milanés himself who –captivated by the project and achievements of the international virtuosos– took the decision to receive them at his studio to realize the recording as well as to contribute to the first cut of the production: "La Soledad" (dedicated to Mercedes Sosa by Milanés).
According to Wenceslao Lazo, general producer of the project, "this work is a experimental project to show the work of Latin American icons of the scene, in this case Pablo Milanés, among other musical manifestations. The idea is to get closer to folklore –the nearest there is to the musical environment of our countries– with the incorporation of solo instrumentals and with harmonic constructions close to Blues and Jazz what produces a notable depth of the originally recorded versions. It's a challenge to leave poetry in order to show emblematic versions through melodies", Lazo concludes.
