Los Tetas at their peak in the nineties.

Los Tetas at their peak in the nineties.

Los Tetas once again in the city…

This year, one of my musical dreams has already been fulfilled, with Jamiroquai in Chile, a band that without a doubt marked my Chilean adolescence. But, there is another band that marked my youth—literally, because at one of their concerts, I broke my leg thanks to all the euphoric ladies, leaving a scar that I´m still proud of today—which still makes me dance and smile every time I hear them.

Los Tetas are a Santiago quartet that had tremendously popular albums in the 90´s such as Mama Funk, which sold 15,000 copies in only five months. They´re a legendary band for us, in which we have all of their records and nostalgically remember their gigs (like the one where I broke my leg), full of young people dancing to "funkimente," the funk.

Well, there had been rumors spreading over the networks that Los Tetas were reuniting to play again, and it has now been confirmed. They will hold their first concert since 13 years this 21 December.

This news is as wonderful for me as the coming of spring, especially because Los Tetas are one of those essential Chilean bands; and now, all in Santiago will have the opportunity to see them play.
