Los Bunkers and Los Jaivas
As we have already mentioned the 8th International Cinema and Music Documentary Movie Festival in Chile In-Edit Nescafé arrived with a program full of surprises and we from CiuSantiago would like to highlight two documentaries that will be presented today: "Los Bunker. A documentary by Sonar" and "Los Jaivas: La vorágine".
These two famous Chilean bands have achieved different levels of success in different periods, Los Jaivas are a classic band of the 70s that set the standard for local bands, and The Bunkers are a more recent band with lots of success in Chile and Mexico. The documentary realized by Sonar, a production company based on the radio station of the same name, shows the reality of the bad while summarizing the most crucial moments of their career, such as international tours and participations without success (Festival de Coachella).
The documentary about Los Jaivas, however, shows the beginnings of the band, the period previous to their first studio album and the transition from their origin – they were called High Bass – to their formation as Los Jaivas. This incredible rock band mixes indigenous sounds and folklore with psychedelic synthesizer sounds and progressive rock.
Two documentaries not to miss today, December 13, 2011, during the 8th edition of the In-Edit Nescafé Festival.
