Just a short, two-hour trip northeast of Santiago, there´s the lovely coastal city Valparaíso. A World Heritage City, Valpo, as most call it, is a magical place that all must see for themselves.

However, the La Peste Company is bringing their home town to the capital, in their newest production, I Love Valpo. Held in Bellavista´s Antonio Acevedo Hernández Theater, this play is an exercise of theater within theater, combining anecdotes about their beloved Valparaíso. Through a tour guide, a waiter and an architect, Katty López and Humberto Cerda create an emotional and critical exercise, asking "porteños" (those living in Valpo) what kind of city they want to live in.

However, it is also related with Santiago, as critic Andrés Alameida points out that it forces those living in the capital to think of how despite being more modern and richer, Santiago is totally devoid of capable artists to do something similar to what has been done in Valparaíso.

Directed by Danilo Llanos, this play has experienced great success and will be taken to Mexico and Ecuador in November. So catch this "blockbuster" before it leaves the country.
