Practicing Child´s Pose at YogaLuka.
In the city, it seems you can always find something fun and cheap to do. One such activity is YogaLuka.
One Luka ($1,000 CLP) for an hour and a half of calming yet semi-challenging yoga that leaves you feeling stronger and really, quite good about yourself. And though it´s ridiculously cheap, they´re also quality classes led by professional yoga instructors.
With 11 locations around the city, yogaluka is accessible to the masses. Each location´s schedule varies, some offering classes all day long, others just a few; their site has all the schedules. All based on the Hatha Yoga method, they offer a wide array of classes ranging from beginner levels to more advanced and even one for pregnant women and another for children.
Due to it´s popularity, many of the locations require you to come at least a day before the actual class to secure a spot, as they ´re often full. They don´t give refunds, nor can you change the date of your ticket, however, if for some reason you can´t go, they have no problems with you giving your pass to a friend.
For those serious about integrating yoga into their lives, a few of their locations also offer YogaCheque, which allows you to chose your class and time without the hassle of making reservations. This option is however, a bit more pricey. A month´s YogaCheque for five classes is $15,000 CLP; you´re paying for ease.
It really is a cool program that allows you to de-stress and forget that outside there´s a huge city with people running around in every direction.
Some tips:
• The classes are designed for healthy individuals, therefore know your body and that you´re able to handle the class.
• Dress accordingly.
• They have mats available, but it is ideal for you to bring your own.
• Go with an empty stomach and only drink liquids for a half hour after the class.
• Enjoy!
