27 hours of music

27 hours of music

On December 2 and 3, another Teletón will take place. Long days with events, music, donations and lots of emotions, where the main idea is it to collect a certain amount of money – in 2010 the aim was 16,580 million Chilean Pesos – to help handicapped people for their treatment. The head of this big Chilean event is Don Francisco, a legendary TV figure who for many years hosted the show “Sábados Gigantes” (“Big Saturdays”).

What is actually done with so much money? I don’t have many leads, but I openly state that I don’t trust the people who lead these kinds of initiatives. In order to make the whole thing more transparent, they could do a public announcement before every Teletón about how the donations of the previous year have been used. Anyway, to focus on those who benefit from this event and to join the crusade seems the most intelligent thing to do, which will be done on Friday, 2 and Saturday, 3 December at the Centro Cultural Amanda.

The idea is to broadcast the Teletón and stage several music and theater performances to collect money which will be donated to the national project. Names as La Molestar Orquesta, Como Asesinar a Felipes, Silvestre, Villa Cariño will participate during these 27 hours of music and scenic art as well as national and international DJs. There will also be shows for children with the Mosquitas Muertas, Mc Billeta, Los Pulentos as well as a showing of Infierno Beach, a suspense play directed by Pablo Illanes.

A good initiative to join.
